The story of this preparation

This is the first time I made cherry varenyky. I used mixed frozen cherries, and I put two cherries in each one. I added cherries, sugar, and sour cream on top. They were better than expected.

Ingredients

510 grams flour
2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter
Water

Directions

Mix flour and salt in KitchenAid mixer.
Melt butter and add 1/2 cup water.
Pour liquid into flour while dough hook is moving. Add more water to make a soft, not-too-sticky dough, about 1/4 cup. Knead with hook until smooth.
Cut dough into two pieces. Wrap with plastic wrap and press into disk. Let rest.
Feed dough into widest pasta roller setting. Refeed until down to 3rd narrowest setting.
Use a cookie cutter or glass to cut rounds. I use one that's a little over 3 inches.
Add two frozen cherries to each piece of dough.
Fold rub water on edge on half of round.
Crimp together carefully

Used my green cookie cutter which is a little over 3 inches.

Used the mixed frozen cherries from King Soopers.

Quick recipe notes

Doubling the recipe made 80 with the green cookie cutter. Did not use eggs. Used extra water instead. Went to #3 on the pasta roller.
